Looks like it's progressing nicely. Well done. I wish copper brake lines were legal over here!

Looking really good. What are you going to do about the dash? Are you going to make a mirror image of the original?

It will be a mirror image.
With a original mini glove box(rhd, hard to find) as the one on the lhd era does not fit a rhd dashboard.
The dashboard is made of mdf and the gauges are also under an angle.
Also the two main gauges need to shift a little bit to the left.
I do not know yet if i am going to use this one ore use it as a mould for a fibre glass one.
It is still a work in progress.

Nice, Looks like you're making good progress. I have a small request, would it be possible for you to take a couple of pictures of the rear of the original dash including the speedo housing as someone in Japan butchered mine and I'm having a go making a new one (fortunately I still have the gauges) and it would be great to see how it went together originally

Thanks, Arrian

Some progress again,
The project got started again after some holidays and things i needed to do around the house.
Can some one tell me how to connect the wiring again around the distributor, coil and the altinator.
And what color needs to go where.
I know where the big cabels need to go but especially the small ones that come out of the wiring loom.
I made some pictures of the wires.

I am really enjoying this thread with the detail you have included for the body restoration and the refurbishment of the individual parts. I am keen to see how you get on with the new dashboard too.

The wire you are holding in your hand has the alternator plug on the end of it - which you have not fitted yet - plus a brown wire with a ring on it which will be an earth or possibly - to the starter motor/solenoid The thick white wire almost certainly goes to the starter motor/solenoid

Most of the answers to your wiring questions are covered under the technical tab on this site (to the left 10th one down)

for quick reference:http://www.eraturbo.co.uk/eraturbo/tech ... hnical.htm

I dont think the coil wiring is covered here but from memory one side has 2 wires: 1 x White with black trace and 1 x black with white trace.

The other side probably has plain white but I will have a look at the weekend and list colours for the following connections:

Coil +
Coil -

Starter Motor/solenoid

Oil Pressure Switch

Water Temperature Sender

Turbo Actuator switch

Oil Temperature Sender

The connection to the distributor ignition module should be obvious as it is on a multi-plug

For other items common to the Mini City like lights and indicators reference to the Haynes manual should help
