I bumped into a chap called Nigel at the IMM yesterday and had an interesting chat about ERA's, apparently he has 4 of them! He did say he would try to see if he could bring one of them up to Stanford in September.

I know Nigel. I'm sure I copied him in the group email I sent, but maybe I missed him. Would be good to see him again. I will increase the pitch size to 12 just in case.

What is the plan for Stanford Hall next weekend?

What time do we need to get there? Are we meeting up at the stand or nearby somewhere?

What is the stand ticket arrangements - do we just pay on the gate as normal and say we are on the ERA stand?

Who is still planning on attending?

see you there.

Hi All,

I have emailed Chris Cheal and upped our pitch size to 12 cars.
I asked to take into the low ground clearance when marking our pitch.
I have also asked what time we can arrive. In the past i used to arrive between 8 & 9 to set up a club stand so that's what i'm planning at the moment.
Gates open at 10:00 or 10:30 to general public.

http://www.miniownersclub.co.uk/clubnews.htm
There are no club stand passes so it's £15 per car on the gate for us all.

With regarding the meeting up, I'm not sure where everyone is coming from so don't know the best point to meet up. If anyone has a suggestion of somewhere nearby we could meet then please post it here.
Alternatively just arrive and ask to be directed to the pitch.

Never a great fan of the meeting up before, as nice as it is to convoy in it always becomes a hassle with someone who is always late getting up or hung over or must go for mcdonalds breakfast etc etc..

Trying to find time to fit hi/los and perhaps fix the front arch before the show.

See you there in the 8-9 window.

I have just imported RJ1026 from a private owner in Japan and am waiting for this reg no to be approved by DVLA. It was first registered in 1990 and is BRG with full leather and only 30,000kms.

I will try to get to Stanford Hall if I get the plates on in time !

May not make it, took it for a blast last night, and it started missing, drive it home slowly and had a look at it this morning and number 4 spark plug had melted its electrode, compression on 3 and 4 down to 80psi 2 150psi, 1 couldnt measure as alternator is in the way on a Japanese one.

Heads virtually off, just two manifold studs to remove then head off and hope its just the gasket.

Found the return pipe from the aux radiator full of thick rusty water, where water in head was nice and clean antifreeze, tried blowing down aux return pipe and water level in head didnt move and couldnt get any movement, so there is a blockage somewhere..

Picking up a DK451 set in morning and hopefully its just gasket, so will lap valves new stem seals and back together and then see where I am Saturday.

Slightly miffed... but such is life..
