HEADRESTS

Post by G96LUE » Sat Jan 17, 2009 8:09 pm

Does any one know where i might be able to lay my hands on a pair of metro headrests identical to those fitted to the era?
i have searched ebay for ages but in about 5 months i have only seen a pair of blue ones for sale.

i should have brought them and got some vinyl paint but i missed them.

I believe most metro's 86-89 with basic seats had the correct ones.
they just need to be grey i believe they can be found in brown or blue as well.

i need them to finish my seats so if you can help please let me know.
i would even consider buying complete seats if the price was right.

Thanks

Darren

the only thing i found were 2 metro`s on there 85-86 and yes i see what you mean about being the same, they were £200 for the whole car with 21000 miles they would be expensive head rest tho if you couldn't sell car afterwards good look dean

Hi

Look out for base model maestro and montego and the maestro van also, I remember a mates dad having a bog basic spec montego with those headrests.

Maybe also rover 200/400 base models.

Paul's right - I once owned an '83 Maestro 1.3L dressed up to look like a 1.6MG Maestro (yes I know it was sad but I was young and broke and believe it or not it fooled quite a few people) and I do seem to recall the headrests were unerringly similar to those on my ERA.....

Hi All

thanks for all the help so far.

when i searched for rover vans i did see a meastro van and it prompted me to look for maestro's and montegos too.

i also saw the metro's and agree they would be expensive headrests.

My friend had a 1.0 city some time ago and they are what they fitted to the ERA.

With regards to the maestro mg lookalike, your not the only one there.
i did that to a 82 1.0l metro hle i had. mg interior, stickers and bonnet badge. i too was young (18/19) but it was cheap to insure, so you're not the only sad one out there  .

thanks again

Regards

Darrren :D
