Re: My latest replica
That looks absolutely amazing. What colour are you going to finish it in? Red, Green or Silver? Or are you going for a whole fleet?
Re: My latest replica
This one will be green.
I used to make these to order for Mini car collectables, but unfortunately John Ednie passed away a couple of years back so i have not made any for a while.
I normally just paint the stock corgi interior grey and put two speakers on the rear shelf.
As i am making this one for myself i have gone to town on the interior.
Originally i had 50 body kits made using resin and 50 sets of wheels. This cost me about £700, plus the base corgi models and paint, and John sold them for me and we split the proffits.
In the end I used 25 for ERA's and 25 for cabrio's. John then had another 50 body kits made for me using white metal this time so i could complete my intended limmited run of 50 models of each.
With the loss of John I lost interested in making them for a while, but i have had some interest from some club members at some recent shows, so i had a look through my box of bits the other day and i have enough for 16 cars so i decided to make another 10.
I have a little paintshop production line in my kitchen.
1 black, 1 white, 2 Red and 5 green. I am leaving one in primer in case i get a specific request.
I will be letting them go to friends for cost, and the remainder i will try on ebay. I have seen some (in my oppinion) really messy looking era models sold for about £80 http://www.traffic-modelcars.com/minimo ... allery.htm (a few pics down), so you never know i might be able to afford my new Cylinder head soon.
I will put some finished pics of my little display soon.

Re: My latest replica
Look nice I got a Corgi ERA model in green from somewhere about 2005.
Hands up if the black one is for sale with slightly wider arches than ussual and 7x13 scale number plates

Hi Paul
If you have a corgi one it is probably one of mine.
I started making them for mini 40, and i was making them for John from about 2001 onwards.
I cant make the arches wider but it just so happens that the black one is the only one which has a jap style front No plate. Spooky .

Hi all,
here are my models so far
Mine is the only one with a full custom interior, but at about 8 hours effort i think it will be staying that way.

Re: My latest replica
They look absolutely stunning. I would definitely be up for contributing to the Cylinder Head fund if there is a red or a green one going spare!
I do like that custom interiour though. No chance you could be persuaded to make more of them?

Re: My latest replica
If i was able to get a mould made of mine then there would be no problem.
It took 3 evenings work to get it looking right just for one interior, and although i think it was time well spent for me i wouldnt like to spend all my evenings making interiors for next to nothing.
Even at less than minimum wage i wouldnt expect anyone to want to pay over £20 extra for an interior, but then again looking at the tomica i might be wrong.
Made this one with Paul in mind (what do you think Paul). I haven't changed the seats, but i made him a custom dash. i even started the lower glove box before i realised the door hinge was in the way.
Trying to design a custom box now. what do you think so far.
I have made 2 red, 1 white, 1 black, 3 green.
I think chris wanted a red one, Paul's is the black one and Rich S wants a green one. I did the white one with Simon in mind.
This means i currently have 1 red and 2 green and one in primer left, but want to of ebay one green one as a tester and to add to the head fund.
I only have 5 body kits left after these are gone, then that is it, unless the bidding goes mad and i can look to get some more kits made.

Re: My latest replica
That you have there is a fantastic Effegi model.
Possibly the best ERA model manufactured, and are like hens teeth to find.
I have one painted in white. it was for sale at £60 by John Ednie, but i had it in payment for several models i made for him.
here is mine.
