Re: Found my ERA (
The car finally arrived today. Checked and identified RJ1159...
Well... The car drives pretty nice. No major problem except the water temp reaches 120 deg C during traffic and with air con turned on.
Quite a lot of minor work is needed. Body overall is OK but definitely needs a whole car respray to tidy up.
Took some photos and let me upload later.

Cool I look forward to seeing what it is like. Regarding the temperature, you'll probably find that the termostatic switch that turns the electric fan on is dead as I have the same problem in my jap era. I haven't found a suitable replacement switch yet but I haven't been looking that hard either! It is located by the alternator next to the radiator in-line with the pipe to the aux radiator.

Sharing here some photos - Took couple of hours checking out the car in person.
Luckily, the engine, gearbox are in good condition. Turbo is fine.
The interior condition is not too bad. Just need to recondition the front driver seat.

A few spots of rust but nothing too serious. Looks like a nice car.

Hi Arrian,
These three wheel caps belong to my Mini repair shop owner.
He used to own two ERAs.
Sharing here some replica rear badge my friend machined for me.
Just finished based in my original rear badge.

Nice how are the badges made? Are they aluminium?

Re: Found my ERA (
Hi Arrian,
They were made of Aluminum.
Milling the shape first. Then anodize black color and polish the embossed area back to silver.
My friend passed the photo to me and he told me yesterday that he was not happy with the silver polish result. I told him maybe he can finish the silver with fine lines polish effect. I also told him to check the height of the embossed area and make sure it is identical to my rear badge.
Since I do not have any mechanical drawing, he redo the drawing based on my sample.
