Any one noticed what effort your rear brakes put out on a MOT.
My Black ERA only put out about 30KG of brake effort before locking up on the rollers, and about 100 with the handbrake.
Doesnt seem right that handbrake should have more brake effort.
MOT systems passed it though as had locked up.

This is normal. The master cylinder only allows a small ammount of pressure to the rear brakes to reduce the risk of locking up under heavy braking.
The back can still lock up under heavy breaking due to inertia of the car being slowed by the front brakes making the back extremely light.
On my mot my rears hit 40 under breaking & 100 on the handbrake.
the fronts hit 210 i think.

About the same as mine, just doesnt seem to have great brakes, think I will replace the front pads.

See my post in 'Technical' about wrong cylinders being fitted. The smaller bore cylinder will require more effort to lock wheels. Chris spun it 90deg a couple of times when we first got it, but only just found out why. I know its difficult to find exactly what is fitted, but 10mm bleed nipples as opposed to small istandard type should be a clue. If you can measure piston diameter, it is supposed to be .5625 inch, not .75 as most are. Very obvious jut looking at them.
