Always a pleasure to see a "lost" ERA turn up for sale.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-ERA-GREE ... 2a2c027a2b
The advert needs to be read carefully before making an offer because:
Previously cat C write off
Non Standard body kit
Non standard wheels
The picture included with the advert is clearly not current because in the text it states that the car is buried and no further pictures can be taken until it is removed after sale! (this could be quite convenient!)
Clearly the solid basis for a complete rebuild - but what is it worth? The market will decide!
R1057 - For Sale
Re: R1057 - For Sale
Surely no one in their right mind would even consider it without seeing it first. Everything on it will need a refurb and without the body kit and wheels its probably worth around £1000 tops.
Re: R1057 - For Sale
I was wondering myself what it might be worth, I have a spare set of wheels and the correct body kit in my stash of spares.
I dont think in this case a Category C right off, if the body restoration is done well, devalues it too much.
It is a genuine ERA, the parts that are missing are rare but not impossible so I would value it based on the cost of restoration:
Full body restoration including sills, A panels, wings & front panel
say £4000
Replacement wheels
say £500
Retrim of seats & interior £1500
Engine and other mechanical work say 1500
That comes to £7500
So I would value it at £2500 - less if the engine is seized

Ouch! - The word that we dare not utter.............
If the car sells, it will be very interesting to see for how much!

Re: R1057 - For Sale
It appears that it did not sell and offers of up to £3,750 were declined - sounds like a lot to me.
