History of r1021 B16 ERA
Hi to all you ERA owners out there I own R1021 but have limited history of the car prior to my ownership if anyone has more info or history on this car could you please let me know many thanks.

I have wondered the same as you on the history of these early ERAs, i started of where my car was registered, if B16 ERA is the reg your car started with it was registered in Nottingham, so your search on ex rover garages up there might be your best bet. Down to luck and years of searching.
I started like that, i have recently contacted the original owners on some of the first ERAs. some have contacted me others not, but still sending letters and hope to drop lucky. Thanks to the ones who gave me help on names and addresses,been very useful information.

Hi Ian.
from the factory register. and the Register page on the left, your car, R1021 left the factory on the 12 November 1989. It was finished in BRG and has the VIN Number 426982.. The original engine number was 12HD26 103742.
It was sold to Sargent? and Collins. (from handwriten register it could be Jargent) but no indicaton if personal sale or a garage.
I have no indication of its original registration number, but It was the 4th Full Production car, as R1017 was the last of the Pre-production run.
I can give you all the original key numbers for Ignition, Doors and fuel cap' but will only send direct e-mail if you want them. Interestingly, the next number car R1022, was sold to the Sultan of Brunei on 3 November 1989 and, we beleive, is still in his famous collection.
